Sumiton, Alabama is home to Bevill State Community College, a top choice in the area to earn an associate’s degree or certificate or take online classes to complete your educational experience.

There are many programs to choose from, including subjects like Automotive Technology, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Child Development, Computer Science, Cosmetology, Engineering, Forestry, Music, Mining Technology, Renewable Energy, Truck Driver Training, Psychology, and Welding.

The services offered by a school are often just as important as the array of programs. BSCC has counseling for academic and personal needs, a library, GED preparation, transfer advisement, and resources that can help students and graduates find employment.

Don’t let your financial situation stop you from attending a top notch school like BSCC. Financial aid counselors can give you information on qualifying for loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships, such as the Dr. Harold Wade scholarship, Moore memorial scholarship, and many more foundations which will help pay for tuition and more.

Arizona State University – Polytechnic School Description

ASU’s Polytechnic campus aims to increase the region’s competitiveness by preparing graduates to move directly into professional and technical careers and to become ethical leaders in their professional, public and personal lives.

Arizona State University’s Polytechnic campus is home to more than 9,600 students pursuing degrees in professional or technological programs. The campus is situated on more than 600 acres in the Phoenix area’s fast-growing East Valley. First-time visitors to the Polytechnic campus are immediately struck by the spacious grounds, friendly people and relaxed atmosphere. Closer inspection reveals a remarkable setting for personal growth and academic accomplishment.

Currently more than 40 degree programs are offered at the Polytechnic campus. Some of the focus areas include business, education, engineering, engineering technology and professional pilot training.

It’s the first university campus in Arizona to offer the Bachelor of Applied Science, a flexible degree designed specifically for students who have earned community college AAS degrees.

The campus landscaping aims to emulate a desert arboretum, reflecting the unique and intrinsic beauty of the plant life of the Sonoran Desert and, to some extent, other similar deserts of the world.

University programs, services, events and activities provide you with a variety of opportunities to develop skills and knowledge that you can use throughout your professional and personal life. At ASU, the student experience is an individual experience.

Andrews University School Description

Andrews University, a distinctive Seventh-day Adventist Christian institution, transforms its students by educating them to seek knowledge and affirm faith in order to change the world.

From the very start, back in 1874, Andrews University has placed serious scholarship, quality research and a strong focus on practical Christianity first on the list of things we think are important about attendance at a Christian university. We started out small. Mr. Bell, a teacher, started a tiny school with only twelve students in Battle Creek, Michigan. This was the birth of what we now know as Andrews University. Today, Andrews is the best-known Adventist educational institution in the world.

At Andrews we are serious about giving you choices. We offer options in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies. If you feel like spending a year abroad, you can choose from an impressive range of opportunities at Andrews affiliate schools or service posts around the globe. We are real people at Andrews. Whatever it is you choose to do here, we aim to make sure that you achieve that balance between theory and practice, and that you experience growth on your personal spiritual journey.

We are named after John Nevins Andrews (1829-1883), the biggest thinker in the 19th century Adventist Church. He was also the first sponsored missionary that the Church sent overseas. J.N. Andrews’ example of careful thought and compassionate action in Christian life is something that we have taken to heart. Our motto is “Seek knowledge. Affirm faith. Change the world.”

Students from across the United States and the globe are attracted to Andrews because of what we stand for and what we offer. U.S. News and World Report says that Andrews is one of the most culturally diverse universities in the nation.

Nestled among the rolling hills, wooded streams, and quaint lakeside villages that pepper the shores of Lake Michigan, Andrews’s idyllic setting is perfect for outdoor recreation in every season. No matter what your niche is—water sports, winter sports, extreme sports—you’ll find plenty of opportunities to escape and unwind doing something you love. Better still, there are groups of Andrews fanatics for just about every sport under the sun, so you’ll always be in good company and have an excuse to break out and try something new. Don’t miss out—dive into the Southwest Michigan sporting scene, and cash in that study break you’ve earned!

Allen County Community College School Description

Since 1923, Allen Community College has provided exceptional educational services to the citizens of Kansas. Quality and access have been primary concerns of the College from its beginning.

ACCC’s quality comes in large part from its competent faculty who are dedicated to the art of teaching. Both those who are employed full-time at the College and those who teach on an adjunct basis are committed to their students and encourage excellence. Complementing the faculty are excellent student services and supportstaff who have committed themselves to the concepts of student success and service.

As an institution of higher education, the purpose of Allen County Community College is to provide quality educational and support services in an atmosphere that is caring, safe, and conducive to learning. Based on the belief that learning and self improvement are continuous processes, the college is committed to a wide range of affordable educational programs to enable all students to reach their academic, occupational, and personal potential.

Allen Community College is located at the north edge of Iola and has a modern campus which compliments the gently rolling hills of the Neosho River Valley. Iola, served by U.S. Highways 54 and 169, is within a two-hour drive of Kansas City, Wichita, and Topeka, as well as Joplin, Missouri, and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Allen County is a progressive area which blends a mixture of agriculture, industry, and business within its boundaries.

Iola (see map) has a population of 7,500 located in southeastern Kansas. It is easily accessible via US 54 and US 169 highways, and offers many services and activities found only in much larger communities. Excellent medical facilities, fine arts facilities, recreational areas, and churches contribute to the physical and spiritual welfare of the community.

Alcorn State University School Description

Alcorn State University is a land-grant institution that has been designated by the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning as a regional university with a primary purpose to serve the southwestern region of Mississippi. The institution considers itself a premier institution preparing students for graduate and professional school, especially in the sciences.

Organized research is conducted in selected areas, but instruction and public service are the primary components of the university’s mission. The institution is currently engaged in a variety of research activities that focus on biotechnology, energy, meat, ecology, farming and alternative crops. Constantly looking for ways to broaden its research function, the institution is moving toward research involving advanced technology and value-added agriculture.

The institution fulfills the instruction component of its mission through small classes and by emphasizing strong undergraduate programs while striving to develop additional graduate programs in specific areas of need and opportunity.

As a Carnegie Master’s I institution and a SREB Level 4 institution, Alcorn State offers a wide range of baccalaureate programs in science, mathematics, nursing, agriculture, advanced technologies, education and business. The institution also offers a selected number of master’s programs in areas such as agriculture, education, nursing and science.

As the epi-center of southwest Mississippi, the institution, through its “communiversity
concept,” provides outreach programs and services that are geared toward assisting and meeting the educational, economic, recreational and cultural needs of the immediate community, the region and the state. Through agricultural research and extension programs, the university seeks to serve families with limited resources and to help small and family farmers improve their standard of living. The institution also provides a variety of professional development opportunities for elementary and secondary schools designed to enhance performance in reading, mathematics, science and standardized examinations.

Ask ASU students what makes this place special and you’ll hear about the Alcorn Pride– all the traditions that come to life the moment you step on campus. It’s about bonding with a new roommate, connecting with a club, being celebrated for individuality and finding safe and fun ways to unwind after class.

The Department of Student Affairs makes sure that these traditions stay strong and that each student feels safe and supported in exploring new challenges. By promoting self-knowledge, leadership, responsibility and diversity, we are cultivating student excellence every single day.

Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College

From Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia

Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) is a coeducational college specializing in agriculture, located in Tifton, Georgia. It is a part of the University System of Georgia, and is named for Abraham Baldwin, the first president of the University of Georgia, Georgia’s first university.

Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College was established in 1908 as the Second District A&M School, became South Georgia A&M College in 1924 and Georgia State College for Men in 1929. Named for a signer of the United States Constitution and the first president of the University of Georgia, the college assumed its present name in 1933 when it became a unit of the University System of Georgia. At that time ABAC embarked on a mission devoted primarily to associate-level studies in agriculture, home economics, and related fields. ABAC’s role later expanded to include a diverse educational program.

The Division of Agriculture and Forest Resources is the largest division on campus, and nursing is ABAC’s largest single program major. The college offers 40 college transfer programs in which students move on to four-year colleges and universities after their ABAC careers are complete. Students can also choose from 15 two-year career technological degrees which take them into the job market. Another option is the certificate program, where ABAC offers 19 selections, each of which can be completed in one year.

Student life

Students live on campus in the ABAC Place apartments, the largest housing project of its kind at a two-year college in America. Most units are four-bedroom, two-bath with a completely furnished kitchen and living area. The units are indeed apartments, rather than traditional dorms. Students are not allowed to leave their doors open in the typical college dormitory style. Unlike many colleges who manage housing through a third party, all housing at ABAC is directly managed by the Student Life and Housing Office, and order maintained by a comparatively small number of highly empowered Resident Assistants known as CA’s, along with a coordinator for each building.

The Experience

A towering gilded statue of the Buddha generates elegant calm in this 175-seat, Pan Asian restaurant with sleek, modern decor. Immensely popular, Buddakan is a restaurant that is great for both large parties and intimate dinners.

Located in the heart of the bustling Old City neighborhood, Buddakan features two full bars as well as a popular (and hard to reserve) 20-person, lit-from-within, community table for sharing food and conversation.

The fare is top notch – appetizers include seared kobe beef carpaccio, endamme ravioli, miso tuna tartare and tea smoked spareribs. For the main course, delve into delicious dishes like Japanese black cod, wasabi crusted filet mignon, roasted ponzu chicken and collosal tempura shrimp. For dessert, the chocolate bento box will please just about anyone.

Be sure to make your reservation before coming to town as Buddakan fills up quickly especially on weekends. Better yet, make your reservation right now .
